The Tzitz is one of the eight items of the Bigdei Kehuna (priestly clothing) that the Kohen Gadol (High Priest) wears during his service. It was made of gold and worn on the forehead of the Kohen Gadol. On the tzitz were written the words “Kodesh L’HaShem” (sanctified unto God). Authorities argue about the placement of the words. Some say that both words were written on the same line, while others posit that one word was written above the other.
