Kodesh (Holy)

The Kodesh, also known as the Heichal (Sanctuary), is the middle room of the actual building of the Beit HaMikdash (Temple). As a result of its level of holiness, only Kohanim (Priests) who have sanctified their hands and feet and are entering for the purpose of the Avodah (work) can go inside. Inside the Kodesh there are three keilim (vessels): the Menorah, Shulchan Lechem HaPanim (Table of the Showbread) and the Mizbe’ach HaKetoret (Incense Altar).
