Har HaMoriah/Har HaBayit (Mount Moriah/Temple Mount)

Har HaMoriah, also known as Har HaBayit, is the mountain in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) on which the Beit HaMikdash (Temple) is built. There were five she’arim (gates) by which to enter Har HaMoriah: Sha’ar Kipunus in the west, Sha’ar Tadi in the north, Sha’ar HaShushan in the east, and Sha’arei Chuldah in the south. Har HaMoriah is sanctified with the kedusha (holiness) of Machaneh Levi’ah (see Yerushalayim).
